PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

As a board certified Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I serve patients age 18 and up. I provide diagnostic psychiatric evaluations and consultations, medication management, and psychotherapy. I employ evidenced-based treatment for psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, and others.  I do not treat active addiction or provide medication assisted treatment for addiction.  I do not provide forensic services or court ordered treatment.  I provide services in my Scarborough office location and via videoconference.  Video appointments require the patient to be physically in Maine at the time of the visit.  Please be aware that some clinical circumstances may require in person appointments.

APPOINTMENTS, CANCELLATIONS AND NO SHOW POLICY

You can request follow up appointments through the patient portal. If you choose, you can receive reminder texts or emails about your appointments. Please allow for one business day to cancel appointments without being charged. After that, patients will be responsible for the full fee for any late cancellations. If multiple appointments are missed without notice, I reserve the right to terminate treatment and refer you elsewhere.

OFFICE HOURS, COMMUNICATION, AND EMERGENCY CALLS

My office hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9AM to 4PM.   I check my messages throughout the workday and on days when I am out of the office. For established patients, the preferred method to reach me for adminstrative or non-urgent clinical questions is to securely message me through the patient portal linked to my electronic medical record.  A link to the portal can be found on my website.

If the matter is urgent or if using the patient portal is not possible, you may contact my office by telephone at 207-560-3770.  Please be aware that voicemail and patient portal messages may not be monitored between 5PM and 9AM. If I am unavailable for an extended period due to travel or illness, you will be directed how to reach a colleague covering my practice.

Prescription refills can be requested via the patient portal and will be attended to during office hours.

If you have a true medical emergency please call 911, go to your closest emergency room, or dial the Maine Crisis Line at 1-888-568-1112 (Voice) or 711 (Maine Relay).  The Maine Crisis Line is the state’s crisis telephone response service for individuals or families experiencing a behavioral health crisis or having thoughts of suicide or self harm.  Trained crisis call specialist answer the line and provide free and confidential telephone support and stabilization 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

DISCONTINUATION OF TREATMENT, NO CONTACT POLICY

Typically, the decision to terminate treatment is made through a mutual and thoughtful discussion involving the provider and patient. In the event that you discontinue treatment without notifying my office, I will assume that your therapeutic relationship with me terminated 90 days after your last visit, unless you have an appointment scheduled for a future date.
